Pricing questions

How much does private, in-house AI cost?
Hard Inf. charges from £4,500 one-off for a desktop unit with support and maintenance from £500 a month, or from £1,800 a month for private cloud. Private rack is priced per project. Prices exclude VAT, and installation and setup are included.
Is there a per-seat, per-token or per-document fee?
No. You pay for the hardware and its maintenance, not for each request, seat or document, so the cost stays flat as more people use it and as volume grows.
Where does the AI actually run?
On hardware you own. A desktop unit sits in your office, private cloud runs on your own servers in a UK data centre, and private rack is a cluster of servers in your own data centre.
Does any data leave the UK or reach a third-party AI provider?
No. Documents are never copied, routed or backed up outside the country, there are no third-party API calls, and your data is never used to train or improve a model.
Can it run without an internet connection?
Yes. The desktop option works with no internet connection at all, so the model and your documents stay on the machine.
Which compliance standards does it meet?
Installs are built for UK GDPR, with retention, access and deletion rules agreed and written down before go-live, and designed to meet Cyber Essentials.
How quickly does it pay for itself against a public AI service?
Most teams cover the cost of the hardware within six months, based on a mid-size team spending about £4,000 a month on a public AI service where costs rise with use.
What happens when a better open-source model is released?
Your support and maintenance retainer includes installing a newer open-source model when a better one arrives, along with software updates and security patches.
